Sneakerheads – AIR FORCE 1

18 June 2008 No Comment

If you’re a sneaker aficionado you would notice that Nike moved away from the once popular Air Force 1 and focused more on their retro Nike Dunks. Nike is now refocusing a marketing campaign on the Air Force 1 by launching the line with the help of select cultural sports, fashion, music, and various lifestyle icons to redesign the shoe to reflect their respective personality and fashion taste. It’s amazing how a conglomerate such as Nike is able to still maintain a sense of coolness and still be able to exploit workers in underprivileged societies. I think they should have a model where they select “one of the numerous exploited sweatshop worker” and have him/her design what Nike means to them. I am picturing dollar signs and a bowl of rice…and of course the air bubble. Enjoy the website!
