Scottie Rock – 5/24/08 Music

24 May 2008 No Comment

Lately, I’ve been really getting into electro house mashed up with hip hop and r&b. If done right, the sound is incredible. I really encourage everyone to check out different types of genres as oppose to the crap that radio stations jams down our throat. Thank you evil corporate conglomerate clear channel! Anyway, groups such as Justice and Daft Punk have done numerous remixes of mainstream songs. Below, rapper Whale from Washington DC did his own interpretation of D.A.N.C.E by Justice. Let me know if you party goers like this kind of music if so I’ll request the DJ’s at Cabana to play more of this kind of stuff.

I also attached the original D.A.N.C.E. video…it’s pretty cool! Some of you might notice the fashion influence I get from these guys!

Also, just to share…the video below is a live performance by Daft Punk. These guys are awesome LIVE! If you know your music…you will recognize the Kanye West collaboration.

While on the topic of music, I just came across this Kanye West video of Flashinglights. I am still uncertain about the actual topic of this song. I think I have a general concept but if you guys know what the song is really about please do share with the rest of us. The concept of the video is interesting….the girl in the video is H.O.T!

Speaking of HOT girls…Usher is always featuring some pretty nice looking ladies in his video. I just saw his newest one Moving Mountains. Is it just me or is this getting a little too melodramatic…its one thing to coroon in the rain but scaling a mountain and crying?! Don’t get me wrong…Usher is a PIMP and great innovater in branding himself but it just seems a little overboard. Anyhow, ENJOY!
