Incredible Hulk AMC Century City – JSAKA

Went to go see the Hulk at the AMC Century City last Saturday with C. We were afraid tickets were going to sell out early so we went extra early to buy them and then ate dinner at the food court. The Century City foodcourt is probably one of the NICEST food courts that I have ever seen but dang it is EXPENSIVE. $10 for a turkey sandwich from Coral Cafe? Good lawd! How much for just one slice? hahahha.
The last time I had eaten there was about 6 months ago with the Fungsta and Eileen. We were enjoying our lunch when the lady sitting next to us asked us to watch her food cuz she had to take her kids to the bathroom. “Sure no problem”, we replied. So we go back to our conversation and i finally notice out of the corner of my eye somebody quickly wiping the table. We all turn around and all the lady’s food is gone. The busboy had come along and quickly threw everything away. I was pretty horrified and so were the other two. Quickly we decided what we should do: a) get the hell out of there before the lady came back or b) offer to buy them lunch. Being the upstanding citizens that we are, we quickly collected 10 bucks each to pay for the new meal. So the lady comes back with her kids and her eyes get all wide. “umm..yah we are SO SORRY”, we pleaded. We tried to push the money in her hands but she refused. She was like, “oh that’s fine…it’s ok”. Right then her little son tugs on her shirt and wails, “MOMMY i’m still HUNGRY!”. hahahaha. You shoulda seen the look on F and E’s faces when the kid said that. They looked so sad. I was secretly laughing inside cuz this totally reminded me of an episode of PUNKED. hahaha. Only except it was real. Oh well.
ANYWAY, back to the HULK. I hadn’t read any reviews of the movie so i had ZERO expectations. Luckily the movie ROCKED! I especially enjoyed the opening scene of the favelas of Rio. Ever since i saw “City of God”, i’ve been fascinated by the favelas. It boggles my mind how these shantytowns have sprung up along the hills of Rio. I would very much like to visit them one day (when it’s safer). Liv Tyler looked pretty good in the movie (even though she has noticeably aged from her days as a stripper in her dad’s Aerosmith video). Edward Norton did a pretty good job as well. Very impressive. At times the movie seemed a little far fetched but nowhere as bad as that trash movie Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. All in all i give the movie a 7 out of 10.
