I know you’re all guilty of it.  You’ve just settled into your seat for a flight to *insert city here* and you’re flipping through the magazines found in the seat pouch or putting that blanket over yourself to snooze out.  The flight attendants stand in front of you and go over the boring safety procedures in case of a crash or other emergency.  You totally zone them out.  Yep, i see it all the time, and i’m probably the #1 culprit of doing it.

As far as I can fathom, what is the use of listening to all this garbage that they are saying?  I mean if we crash, are we REALLY going to live?  Probably not.  We’re all headed for the big house upstairs.

I mean c’mon now!  How dumb are those cards?  What it REALLY should show is the airplane on fire or in pieces and all these dead bodies scattered about.  hahahah.

ANYWAY, i’m on the freeway today and i hear on the radio that a plane has crashed in New York.  My first reaction “wow, i wonder how big the airplane was and how many people died”.  Then i get back to the office and decide to read about it on cnn.com and i find out that EVERYBODY lived.  Seriously….how MIRACULOUS is that?  Like FO REAL.  And then i see the picture.  DOUBLE WOW.  Everybody is standing on the wing!  I mean it’s just like the “emergency card” said.  Emergency doors pop open, people slide out, people go onto life rafts or the wing.  AMAZING.

In today’s current situation (i.e. a failed presidency, a failed stock market, a failed economy, a failing health care system) it sure is refreshing to see something that worked out perfectly for a change!  Like this stuff is straight out of a movie!  Engines fail and the brave captain makes a picture perfect glide onto the mighty Hudson River.  I don’t know who could have written a better script.  I’m surprised the captain didn’t emerge from the cockpit wearing aviator sunglasses with cigar cockily placed in mouth (a la Will Smith in Independence Day).  Here’s to you Captain Sullenberger.  You are a stud’s STUD.
