Scottie Rock 5/22 – Fashion and Style

G Shock Event – Can’t Tell Me Nothing from kwest on Vimeo.

This is what I call setting yourself apart from the rest! Some may laugh at Kanye West for his style or even hate him for his arrogance, but the man knows how to distinguish himself from the rest. Why live life like anyone else…make the world RECOGNIZE your existence! When you’re making an entrance by having 4 nude chicks wear space helmets…you got to be pimping…I don’t care what you got to say…cuz I’m going to get MINE MONEY RIGHT…thanks for the inspiration KANYE!

I saw this commerical and wanted to share with you all! Lacoste is definitely one of my favorite polo shirt brands beside Ralph and Burberry. They are definitely one of the more successful companies in effectively rebranding themselves. Check out the commercial its pretty tight…in fact its pretty fashion forward in my opinion. Speaking of fashion…another of my mentor…Pharrell Williams….YEZZIR!!!! Skateboard Pete collaborated with LV creating the Blason campaign….interesting. I think this might turn-off the Asian clientele…we’ll see. It seems that the girls will buy anything with that logo slapped on.

Scottie Rock 5/21/08

What’s going everyone! It’s memorial day week! It’s definitely going to be a poppin week! For everyone that missed Cabana Club last Friday (5/16/08) we were slamming! Special Thank you to Budweiser for their sponsorship and support! This weekend is without a doubt going to be a crazy weekend! Cabana Weekly Fridays and an exclusive event CRIMSON Hollywood this Sunday. If you haven’t checked out Cabana….I don’t know what rock you’re crawling out of but just come out and see for yourself. If you’re still not impressed come find me that night and let me buy you a drink. However, you must be objective as oppose to simply saying it to get a free drink unless you’re REALLY REALLY HOT!

If you haven’t seen CRIMSON, this is the venue that USHER shot his video LOVE in the CLUB. Check it out!

Friday – Overall, crazy Friday…I almost lost my camera so I wasn’t able to document the maddness. If you’re interested in looking at the pics that my boys took…add me on facebook and you can check it out. The pics are actually freaking hilarious if anything. People seemed to be mesmerized by my bandana and my clothing courtesy of Triumvir. Mad love to Brandon, Richard, Kevin, and the entire Triumvir family for always taking care of us. Those guys are working on some pretty big stuff that is going to blow them up for sure! Check out their line! Yeah, its funny how some of the guys (these are the trend followers that don’t wear anything too crazy unless the white people start sporting it or they just shop at BR and AF) were clowning on my bandana until they saw these girls complimenting and asking for it! HAHAHAHA! I know I’m no trendsetter but man…come on I’m getting tired of people saying how Asian guys are boring, predictable, and we’re all some sort of financial anaylsts. People let’s represent with some flavor and style! I’m going to dedicate another blog just on some of the fashion influences that inspires me and share with all of you some fresh style, fashion and clothing blogs.

Saturday – Daytime, I went sun-tanning with my homegirl Steph by the pool side. Boy was it hot! We had the chance to catch up on all the latest gossip and trash talking. Man, did I find out some dirt…jk…or am I…hehehehe…..you’ll better be careful…I have spies everywhere!

Later that night, I stopped by Blue Velvet aka Flat Lounge for Kenny Hong’s birthday as well as J Lounge for Diana Vo’s birthday.  Happy birthday to both of you! Kenny’s working on a very important and inspiring charity project. If you haven’t heard, hit him up. It’s for UNICEF and it’s for a really good cause! Basically, Blue Velvet is the latest lounge constructed out of all recyclable materials. The venue is located on the first level of the Flat. The place was pretty packed due to the hot weather but the crowd seemed sort of like a hodgepodge mix.

Diana Vo, one of sweetest girls I know. She’s a nurse if you all didn’t know, and I think that’s why she has a pretty big heart! A damn fine nurse if I may add! =0 J lounge was alright. This place tends to attract the older Asian crowd I don’t know why but its a pretty chill spot. I also ran into Lauren from Pearl Events who is one of the funniest girl I know. She’s tight with Kim Kardashian..ask her how? HAHAHA!  Lauren does a lot of special events and massive charity and benefit events. She helped produced our UNION STATION NYE 2008 Event. Thanks again Lauren! 2800+ party goers! Enough said.

Kim Kardashian

Anyway, overall the weekend was pretty fun…but I am looking forward to Memorial Day Weekend. Hit me up if you’re coming out so we can coordinate our clothing….HAHAHHAHA! AIM:GoProDiddy

Hot Weather Tales

So last weekend was hot.  WAY hot.  So hot that my wet dream was dry.  puahaha.  j/k.  Yah anyway the weekend started off Thursday with our bimonthly party at Social Hollywood.  The crowd was steady throughout the night and we had around 350 partiers when all was said and done.  I don’t know what it is but it seems like people get extra drunk on Thursday nights.  This makes absolute no sense to me since we all have work/school the next day.  I remember back in the Old Town Pasadena Q’s days run by Proof Postiive when i would get absolutely hammered and be incoherent at work the next day.  Like straight from 8am-Noon i would be staring at my computer screen and unable to move.  Splendid!

SOCIAL HOLLYWOODSOCIAL HOLLYWOOD

You see how much play our promoters get?  hahahah.  Steven be mackin it.

On to Friday.  Cabana Club Hollywood where we held the USC Graduation Party.  Shit was SMOKIN.  1,200+ partiers packed the house and it was friggin HOT.  Thank god that patio tent wasn’t still up or we would all be dead in there.  Can you imagine all the sweat that would have condensed on the roof and then rained down on us?  hahaha.  Eww yes i know.  Another drunken night.  Crowd was really fun and clean so that was good.  No drama!

    CABANA CLUB HOLLYWOOD

Woke up bright and early Saturday morning and headed over to Santa Monica College for the APEX Youth Olympics.  Hogan is the prez this year and he said he needed volunteers so here i am!  hahaha.  I actually had more fun than i thought i would.  I think the kids definitely appreciate the work that the APEX folks put in for a successful event.  Props to Brenda and Apple for a well run event!  Only negative was that I now have a mean sunglass tan.  Ugh.

That evening we hit up the California Philharmonic in Pasadena for a show.  We go there late, cuz of my navigator so we missed the first 20 minutes.  No worries cuz i scored a beer to pass the time.  haha.  The highlight of the night was the part where they played all the star wars theme pieces.  Awesome!  Yah i know, not that much of a party on Saturday night but fuggit..gotta get in some culture in all this madness!  =)  We hit up Tani Sushi in Old Town after for some grub.

CALIFORNIA PHILHARMONIC

Sunday we drove up PCH to Oxnard for the Strawberry Festival.  Man it was god awful hot there!  Met up with Georgia aka Hotlanta and Audrey there too.  Ate some stuff, looked around, and headed back down to LA.  Traffic back was BAD.  Bumper to bumper all the way home on PCH.  Yikes.  Hella frustrating.

STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL

Jam packed weekend eh?  THIS weekend should be even more madness starting tomorrow.  Little Tokyo Sake Event, Cabana Club, Hermosa Beach Volleyball, Le Cercle in Ktown, and CRIMSON on Sunday Night.  Maybe even a BBQ in between.  Better rest up! Yay yuhhh!

HTC Touch Diamond Phone & Blackberry Bold

Seems like a lot of companies are coming out with the next hot thing to take down the Apple iPhone.  Since i have the jankiest of janky phones i’m thinking about buying one of these.

Blackberry Bold – This is a faster upgrade from the current Blackberry Curve model.  It is also equipped with support for the every more popular 3G wireless networks, integrated Wi-Fi and GPS, a smoother physical design and a more vivid screen resolution.  Looks pretty good no?

Blackberry Bold

HTC Touch Diamond Phone -   The main hub of this phone is HTC’s TouchFlo 3D interface, which HTC says provides “animated access” to people, messaging, e-mail, photos, and more.  There’s also a touch pad alongside the screen.  The phone is powered by the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system.   Cool!

HTC Touch Diamond Phone

Maybe you’ll see me with one of these phones soon.  OR you can get a refurb Apple iPhone for only $250 with 2 year at&t signup right now.  What to do..what to do.

Weekend Recap: Cabana Club Hollywood & Area

I’m back after a short hiatus!  Last weekend was the normal dose of drunken fun and jackassery.  Friday was Neon Night at Cabana Club in Hollywood.  We had just under 1,000 party people show up for the glow sticks and glow bracelets.  Looked like a mini rave up in there (well at least i’ve been told since i’ve never been to a rave).  Me and Scottie had some shirts made up at this silkscreen shop downstairs from the office.  They had these BRIGHT green and pink tshirts at American Apparel but sadly did not have our size.  Well actually they had my size in hot pink but i didn’t want to give any of you guys the wrong idea.  Naw mean?  wink wink.  Yah anyway, i settled with this aqua bluish color and Scottie settled for plain pale yellow.  hahaha.  Shirts turned out decent though and peeps were complimenting it (or maybe they just wanted to get discounts into the club).  We’re doing the USC Trojans Graduation Party this Friday at Cabana Club so it should be another packed night!  Plus it’s supposed to be hot this weekend so our patio should be CRACKIN!

Saturday was sports day at this park up in the hills of Monterey Park.  Yah i know you’re thinking, Monterey Park has friggin hills?  hahaha. Yah.  Just like Baldwin Hills (where all the rich black folk live).  Anyway had some delicious bbq and then played H-O-R-S-E.  I got last place.  Havent’ shot the ball in about a year so was expected i guess.  Played 3 on 3 too and sucked it up even more.  Mike Chu was guarding me and I couldnt’ even score on him.  Now that is plain PATHETIC.  I think i shall retire again.

Headed back to West LA and got ready to head out to AREA nightclub in Hollywood thrown by the House of Glam guys.  It was Gary’s bday so went out to celebrate.  Too bad i only saw that dude at the beginning outside!  Anyway, i proceeded to get pretty sloshed.  Kinda blacked out from 12-2am but apparently i was acting the fool.  hahaha.  Luckily Steve drove us home.  My cherry on top of my drunk sundae was when i fell down the stairs in my apt.  From the top….allll the way to the bottom.  Slick eh?  No more drinking like that for another…..month or so.  =)

Sunday was the day of Mother’s.  Watched the Lakers lose another one to the Jazz.  Headed out to the soutbay to have chinese dinner with the parents and grandparents.  A pretty chill Sunday.  The party starts again on Thursday for our grand opening of Social Thursdays at Social Hollywood!  Holla!  =)
